ICBC Medical Assessments

We are pleased to inform our patients and community that our clinic now offers professional medical assessments for individuals applying for or renewing a personal or commercial driver’s licence through ICBC, for both Blue and Yellow forms.

These examinations are conducted in accordance with ICBC and provincial medical standards to ensure applicants meet the health and safety requirements necessary for operating vehicles. Our licensed healthcare providers are experienced in completing the Driver’s Medical Examination report and other related documentation required by ICBC.

What is an ICBC medical assessment?

An ICBC medical assessment is a detailed health evaluation requested as part of a motor vehicle accident claim. It helps determine the impact of your injuries and supports your recovery plan.

Do I need a referral for an ICBC assessment?

In most cases, yes. Your family doctor, physiotherapist, or lawyer may refer you for an ICBC assessment to support your treatment or claim process.

Is the assessment covered by ICBC?

Yes, if you’ve been in a motor vehicle accident and your claim is approved, ICBC typically covers the cost of your assessment.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring your ICBC claim number, a list of current medications, and any relevant medical records or reports. If possible, bring copies of imaging (X-rays, MRIs) related to your injury.

What happens during the assessment?

Our medical professionals will review your health history, discuss your accident, and perform a physical evaluation. The goal is to understand how the accident has affected your health and recommend next steps.

How long does the assessment take?

Depending on the complexity of your condition, assessments can take between 45 minutes and 90 minutes.

Will I receive a report after the assessment?
