What is the difference between Kinesiology and Physiotherapy?
While both professions focus on improving movement and function, they have different approaches. Physiotherapists are licensed to diagnose injuries and often use a combination of manual (hands-on) therapy and exercise. Kinesiologists specialize in the active component of rehabilitation, using in-depth knowledge of exercise science and movement mechanics as a primary tool to help you recover, manage your condition, and improve performance. The two services can be very complementary.

Kinesiology is effective for a wide range of needs. Our clients seek help for:

  • Rehabilitation from injuries (e.g., sprains, strains, post-surgery)
  • Management of chronic pain (e.g., back pain, arthritis)
  • Improving posture, balance, and mobility
  • Enhancing athletic performance and technique
  • Active recovery after a motor vehicle accident
Your first session is a comprehensive assessment. It will include a detailed discussion about your health history, symptoms, and specific goals. Your Kinesiologist will then guide you through a series of movements to assess your posture, mobility, strength, and biomechanics. This allows us to create a personalized and effective treatment plan just for you.
No, you do not need a doctor's referral to see a Kinesiologist. You can book an appointment with us directly to get started on your assessment and treatment.
Please wear comfortable, athletic-style clothing that you can move in easily, similar to what you would wear to a gym. Activewear and a good pair of trainers are ideal.
Many extended health benefit plans offer coverage for services provided by a registered Kinesiologist. We recommend checking directly with your insurance provider to confirm the details of your plan. We will provide you with an official receipt for you to submit for reimbursement.
