Holter Monitoring Assessments (Arrhythmia)

We are pleased to announce that our clinic now provides Arrhythmia Holter monitoring assessments as part of our ongoing commitment to comprehensive cardiovascular care.

Holter monitoring is a non-invasive diagnostic tool used to detect and evaluate irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) over a 24 to 48-hour period or longer. This assessment helps our healthcare providers accurately diagnose conditions such as palpitations, bradycardia, tachycardia, or unexplained episodes of dizziness or fainting.

Our team ensures that all monitoring and analysis are conducted with precision and confidentiality, using up-to-date equipment and in accordance with clinical best practices.

FAQ

What is a Holter monitor and why would I need one?

A Holter monitor is a small, wearable device that continuously records your heart’s activity—typically over 24 to 48 hours. It’s used to detect irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) that may not show up during a regular EKG.

How is a Holter monitor different from an EKG?

An EKG gives a snapshot of your heart rhythm at one point in time. A Holter monitor records your heart rhythm continuously over a longer period, which helps detect issues that come and go.

What should I expect during the monitoring period?

You’ll wear a small device attached to electrodes on your chest. You can go about most of your normal daily activities, but you should avoid bathing or swimming while wearing the monitor.

Does the Holter monitor hurt?

Not at all. It’s non-invasive and painless. You might feel slight skin irritation from the electrodes, but it’s temporary.

Do I need to change my routine during monitoring?

No major changes are needed. In fact, we encourage you to continue your normal routine so we can capture your heart activity in real-life conditions. Just avoid moisture and keep the device dry.

When will I get the results?

Once you return the device, our team will analyze the data. Your doctor will receive the results typically within 5 to 7 business days and discuss them with you.

Will insurance cover this test?

Coverage may vary depending on your insurance provider and plan. Our team will help you verify your benefits prior to the appointment if needed.
